Natural Products Under Threat
Thousands of ‘safe’ natural products (i.e. foods, herbs, vitamins, minerals, supplements & indigenous remedies) are at risk of being banned by 2011. If unchallenged, many believe that it not only poses the greatest threat imaginable to our health, (including our children & future generations), animal welfare and the environment – but also the survival of many cultural foods, holistic practices, therapists and ‘small’ health businesses. In addition, centuries of ancient wisdom and spiritual beliefs will be written out of the history books and lost forever. The Joining Hands in Health campaign has been set up to encourage us to take responsibility for our health with access to natural health products. Largest ever trial on homeopathy
A report on a study has been published in Homeopathy, journal of the Faculty of Homeopathy. It is the largest ever trial of homeopathy, drawing on information from 11 million people, affected by Leptospirosis in Cuba. The number of cases fell dramatically among the 2.3 million people in the worst affected areas, who were given homeopathic treatment, whereas rates in other areas were as predicted. PCT’s to decide whether to fund homeopathy
After receiving some severe setbacks homeopathy has won the last round in its battle with the medical profession. England’s Department of Health has rejected demands to stop funding the use of homeopathy in the NHS. Local primary care trusts should be left to make up their own minds as to whether the treatment is appropriate for their patients.
