Haiti Homeopathic Trauma Recovery Project

The disaster in Haiti no longer features in the media but the human suffering continues – on a scale that is impossible for us in the west to appreciate. This link to the Disasters Emergency Committee report paints a graphic picture http://www.dec.org.uk/item/430
Whilst the major relief agencies try to provide water, food and shelter only Homeopathy can undo the  shock and trauma so that individuals have the strength and will to rebuild their lives. This appeal from Harry van der Zee and Peter Chappell of the Amma Resonance Healing Foundation shows what Homeopathy is doing and gives you the opportunity to help.

Here is the video of their first response to the Haiti Earthquake Trauma. You can see for yourself how easy and effective as well as safe the treatment is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxSnEbB2u5M

A message from Harry, Peter and Corrie:

“The aim is to establish a long term project to treat the trauma, integrated into the local infrastructures, churches, clinics, schools so the whole nation recovers. As you will see this is very practical possible. We want to make visits to set this up, talk on TV and radio and newspapers so everyone has access, and to set up a permanent supply process.

This is all quite feasible. We just need you to please donate; if you did already then thanks for getting us this far.  Send this onto your friends with a recommendation or if you are involved in any homeopathic organisation could you please send it on to the members.

By going to www.arhf.nl – you can donate by Paypal or credit card.”

With thanks

100 million Homeopathy Patients in Europe

The third EU Homeopathy Day saw a number of speakers take to the stage at the European Parliament in Brussels on 23 March 2010. The overriding aim of the event was to raise awareness of Homeopathy to politicians and decision
makers in order to create a more integrated and holistic approach to health care in Europe. According to the European Commission, 75% of people within Europe know of homeopathy whilst 29% of the European population uses it as part of their health care. Additionally, 65% of Europeans report they use complementary and alternative medicine (World Health Organisation).
Legislation regarding homeopathy and complementary/alternative medicines (CAM) varies extensively throughout the continent. Whilst only medical doctors are allowed to practice homeopathy in many countries including Bulgaria, Italy and Greece, the national health insurance system covers the fees for homeopathic treatment in Belgium and Romania (http://www.homeopathyeurope.org/regulatory-status).

It is the intention of the European Central Council of Homeopaths (ECCH), who contributed to the organisation of the EU Homeopathy Day, to encourage the highest standards of professional practice in homeopathy, whilst acting as an advisory body to governments and other policy making institutions.

Is There a Proven Complementary Medical Approach Against Swine Fever?

The last time the H1N1 strain of “Swine Flu” swept around the world with such a devastating effect, it was called The Spanish Flu (1918-19) and was one of the most disastrous pandemics in recent history, killing up to 100 million people. Are there any complementary medical approaches that could help people to be more resilient to this virus?

This latest strain of Flu – “Swine Flu” (H1N1) is closely linked to the Bird Flu (H5N1) that has been grabbing the headlines in recent years, but has been around for far longer – according to medical records. This latest bout of H1N1 Flu is described as a mix of swine flu, bird flu and human flu – with the ability to pass from human-to-human.

There is no need to panic though, as we can learn lessons from the past – especially when it comes to effective treatment of H1N1 during the Spanish Flu epidemic.
The Survivors Guide to Bird FluDuring the world epidemic of 1918-19, caused by H1N1, up to 100 million people are estimated to have died. However, the evidence from the time shows that the mortality rate from sufferers who were treated homeopathically were much, much lower than those treated by conventional medical practitioners. Jayney Goddard, President of The Complementary Medical Association (The CMA) has written about this ‘epidemic’ and previous ones throughout history in her book “The Survivor’s Guide to Bird Flu: The Complementary Medical Approach”.>
The book is a breath of fresh air in the current climate of concern and uncertainty about the effects of a new pandemic of Swine Flu, or Bird Flu.

Jayney Goddard makes a calm, rational review of what happened then and examines the conventional and the complementary medical approaches that were used including herbal, nutritional and even homeopathic interventions.  Jayney provides evidence for what worked and what didn’t – and identifies the successful treatments that can still be used to treat infections like Swine Flu and Bird Flu. She examines the potential effectiveness of the treatments on offer today from conventional and complementary medicine – and provides realistic prevention and treatment options for real people.  The approaches this book recommends are grounded in science and have a long history of traditional usage and success.
Goddard states: “The World Health Organisation has been anticipating a devastating flu-like illness for some years now and they believe that a pandemic is inevitable.  This may be the case  – and if so it is vital that we find ways to modulate (not randomly ‘boost’) our immune systems so that we are as resistant to life threatening flu as possible.”

“A cytokine storm (an over-proliferation of a pro-inflammatory messenger hormone called TNFα which attacks our body’s cells randomly) is at the heart of why these Type A influenzas can be so utterly lethal.  It may be possible to modulate the immune response in order to ‘dampen down’ the over production of TNFα using a range of nutritional and herbal approaches.”

“The anti-inflammatory approaches recommended in the book are an excellent health-manifesto for the long term as they also reduce our predisposition to chronic inflammatory diseases including diabetes Type 2, some cancers, arthritis, heart disease, and some neurological diseases including Alzheimers and Parkinsons.”

Do Piglets tell Porkies? – Homeopathy on the Farm

A wonderful research article was recently published in the journal ‘Homeopathy’ (Volume 99, Issue 1, January 2010, Pages 57-62 Special Issue: Biological models of homeopathy Part 2) showing homeopathic success in the treatment of piglets against E coli.

The study in question was a double blind random controlled trial (RCT) of 52 sows who were randonly treated with Coli 30K or placebo and who subsequently gave birth to 525 piglets.

The study showed that there was a reduction in the incidence of E.Coli diarrhoea. (Results showed that the placebo group had over six times more diarrhoea than the homeopathically treated group (P < 0.0001). The research also showed that the mean duration of diarrhoea was different for both groups, 1.86 days on average in the placebo group compared to 1.3 days in the Coli 30K group. This is important in farming terms as the difference of half a day can make large differences in the overall performance of piglets.

The owner of the farm where the experiment was carried out initially quite sceptical about homeopathy. However, after the experiment he decided to apply Coli 30K to all sows. Since then E.Coli diarrhoea has hardly occurred.

The authors state that “Advantages at farm level (of E.Coli 30K homeopathic remedy) are ease of application of the treatment by the farmer and cost reduction. These advantages and the positive results from this study make the homeopathic agent Coli 30K an attractive potential alternative in the prevention of E.Coli diarrhoea.”

So, given the double blind RCT structure of the trial – the ‘gold standard’ of science, does this research indicate that homeopathy works, double blind RCTs don’t work – or that ickle piggies tell great big porkies?
